Calgary Game Developers
CGD was created in the Spring of 2013 as a Meetup.com group. Before the first official meetup was held the website and forum were added so that anyone, regardless of schedule, would be able to participate in discussions. The meetup group has been steadily growing and memberships overall have exceeded all expectations. The group is currently in its infancy but the goal is to create some face to face time with fellow developers within the city. It doesn't matter if you've made a hit indie game, if you specialize in music over coding or if you joined simply to begin your journey into making games.

"Calgary Game Developers (CGD) is a community for Calgary based game development. We know you are out there. Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto all have large game developer groups and we feel that Calgary should to. After all this is the tech hub of Alberta, we have a population of over 1.1 million people and host major conferences like the Comic Expo. So why don't we have more of a presence? This is the question we asked when creating this group.
